Meet the Cummins INLINE 4 and INLINE 5 Data Link Adapters. These adapters are genuine Cummins products and are the only adapters available that Cummins certifies to be 100% compatible with all features of the latest Cummins software applications. The INLINE 4 and INLINE 5 can communicate with your PC or PDA through a 9-pin serial connector. The INLINE 5 also can communicate with your PC over a Universal Serial Bus (USB) through a 5-pin mini-connector. Either adapter connects to vehicle power and the SAE J1708/J1587 and J1939/CAN data links via a 25-pin serial connector. The pin arrangement on the serial and data link connectors is identical to prior Cummins INLINE adapters, so your INLINE 4 or INLINE 5 will even work with your prior INLINE data link cables.

With full compliance to the Technology and Maintenance Council's RP1210 standard, the INLINE 4 and INLINE 5 will work with the latest Cummins INSITE, INFORM, PowerSpec, and Calterm III software applications. Both will also work with the new QuickCheck 4, QuickSpec 4, and QuickTrip 4 RP1210-compatible software, plus any other software applications that are fully compliant with the RP1210 standard (note that while some non-Cummins applications fully support RP1210, others do not, so you should test each application in question with the INLINE 4 or INLINE 5 adapter to make that determination).
